Extra Curricular Information

I graduated from undergrad cum laude in 2004. After that I got married and have worked in publishing for nearly three years with one promotion under my belt. I've also been involved heavily in a few volunteer writing/editing opportunities since graduating.

Undergrad Activities:
Treasurer for English Honorary (two years)
Very active member in women's student activist group
Member of two honor societies
Wrote for student newspaper

Awards, Publications, etc.:
Published a book (I don't want to get specific here)
Winner of upperclass writing award
Dean's List student
Women's Studies minor

Steps I took after sending my applications:

UGA: I wrote two letters of continued interest for UGA. I visited the school, talked to the admissions director in person and later e-mailed the assistant admissions director. I was rejected two days after sending that e-mail.

GSU: I initially applied for FT but later submitted a letter asking to be considered for PT as well. I wrote a letter of continued interest and included two additional essays. I also had an extra LOR written and visited the school.

UC: I went the other route and did nothing.

Case: Same as with UC.

Maybe this information will help somebody in the future. Good luck.

I'd like to trade e-mail addresses with anyone else who will be part of the class of 2010 at Mercer's Walter F. George School of Law.

The acceptance at Case was certainly a boost to the self esteem after the heartbreaking rejections from UGA and GSU, but my husband and I made the decision together and we want to stay in Georgia.

Mercer it is!
